About The Production
Creating the Fiction Film
The Fiction Filmmaking capstone is a joint collaboration between the College of Arts and Letters and the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University. Students take full ownership in the creation of a short film from concept to production and throughout distribution. Under the guidance of Jeff Wray and Bob Albers, who serve as the film’s executive producers, the class picks a story based off pitches given by members of the class. From there, the students audition themselves to fill the production roles with the class, democratically electing each position. The Fiction Filmmaking Minor educates undergraduates in the history, theory, and production of Fiction Film allowing students to produce quality work.
